Default Labels BUSTED?-CD price fixing

Read the latest news headlines? Apparently the Napster issue has caused the record companies to attempt to recoupe some monies lost because of sites like Napster and MP3.com. The labels got an extra $480 million outta you and me. Everyboy wants to make a buck, but it would appear with the Record Labels it still all about GREED!!

Agree or Disagree?

Corporations are founded on greed usually. It's a money making business. And record labels are certainly not in it for the art. Ultimately, I never really noticed an increase in CD prices. Usually the price of a CD never caused me to not buy it. And considering I don't buy more than 6 a year or so, thats not too much money lost. If record companies want prices to be high thats okay with me. As long as the profits go toward the people involved in the production as well. But thats another story altogether. Anyone have any specific info on that regard?

All I can say is: They didn't have to turn down so many Artists (with well produced demos) or even finished projects.

It is unfortunate that the State of New York will get it rather than FUTU FUTU and many other worthy bands (artists)

Real unfortunate. Very bad karma RIAA!

A lot of this money naturally would have gone to studios and engineers.

Greed. Pure & simple. Hand in the cookie jar.
