Default Popping and crackling

Popping and crackling when play back recording thur mbox. Anybody tell why it's happening? rying to reocord but playback popping and cracking................Please help.........

sinnagod, first off, welcome to the DUC.

Next, for anyone here to help you, we need more info about your system. The more detailed the better; motherboard, chipset, processor, memory, etc etc. EVERYTHING.

I'm sorry, that's not quite enough info. What make and model is the motherboard (if you don't know, what make and model PC?)

Are you using an onboard USB slot? If not what USB card are you using? Do you have any other USB devices plugged in?

You said 120GB HD; is it your only drive? While others have had success using only one drive (myself included when I first got my system) Digi recommends a separate hard drive for audio.

Are you running any other software besides Pro Tools? This would include services that run when the PC starts, like virus scanners etc etc.

Have you followed all of the steps in chapter 2 of the getting started guide? There are some very important steps there, including Enabling DMA on your hard drives among others.

All stuff that we need to know so that we can help you.
