Default confused PT 9 Native person here

Hi

I am one of those home guys that uses PT 9 with a third party I/O

i have no PT hardware nor will i be getting any. my yamaha n12 works great with PT 9

my questions are this

1) is the PT 10 upgrade 299 for me
2) do i get the add project to RAM thingy? i have 16 gigs in my mac pro
3) do all AAX plugs come in the native upgrade?
4) i have the euphonix series controllers, do all the updates to those work and come with native?

thanks for any info, my head is spinning with all the different routes to go that i dont understand any of it

thanks

Have a look at all the new features and then ask yourself "would I use any or all of them?

In all likelihood, being a "home guy" the answer is probably no. If that's the case then there is no need for you to upgrade at this stage.

Wait for a 64Bit version of PT otherwise you'll probably be needing to upgrade again in a year or so (by then you'll be a 'Pro' home guy).

1: If you're not on hd, then yes the 299 update is the price you will fall in. Providing you're not on MP or a lower version of PT.
2: With the cptk you can use the extended disk cache option.
3: Not all as some are not ready yet, but when you get the upgrade you already get the aax plugins that are available from avid at the moment.
4:Since Euphonix series controllers uses the eucon protocols, yes you will have access to the new controls that are now available in pt. They come with PT 10 base options.
