Pro Tools 9 transport is frozen

I finally got PT9 to launch with my Symphony 64/ Rossetta 800 8 core mac. But when I hit play, nothing happens. The stop button on the PT transport may blink but nothing else. I've reinstalled the midi drivers for my interface and trashed all of the PT prefs and still no change. Am I missing something?

You could try holding down the 'n' key while Pro Tools is launching so you get the Playback Engine - change it to a different device and see if it's working, then switch back to the Symphony.

I changed the device but it keeps resetting on Line input. If I choose Symphony 64 then Pro Tools won't launch. I have to choose Agregate Device to complete a launch of pro tools. I can create new tracks and arm for record but when I hit play. the stop button blinks

Do you have multiple Aggregate Devices in the Playback engine showing up??

yes but just the internal mac pro i/o and my symphony 64

Does it freeze when you choose built-in sound card?

no it plays! But when I change it back to Symphony or aggregate, it crashes Pro Tools. Any ideas?

I just booted my rig in 32 bit mode as this was suggested, but I have the same exact issues. When I introduce the Symphony 64, PT9 crashes.

I got it working booting in 32 bit and installing the 32 bit Symphony drivers. However, turning on the VBUS channels crashes PT9 every time.

I don't have any specific data on this unit, so I don't know for sure that it should be working. We'll try to look into this as soon as possible - in the meantime, you may want to see if anyone else has been successful with it. The Air Users Blog has a thread that may be useful:
