Midnam for Roland XV-88 - Anyone? Skylight?

I tried looking it up from Skylight but it's not listed in there. Digidesign claims that there are a lot of improvements on their MIDI department, wondering why patch names and midnams are not part of it??!! The AMS is great but does not have enough to help configure MIDI systems with less hassles!

I would appreciate it if anyone knows where to find midnam for XV-88. Wondering if XV-3080 or 5050 has the same patches names. I know the 5080 has the same patches, of course it's also not listed by Skylight.

Also, what if I add expansion cards? What do I do then?

Might try...

Make sure you change the model name from XV-5080 to XV-88 in the XML file. Edit with word and you must save as a text only file.



P.s If you add cards you will have to add more xml....and do some midi bank change contoller change homework.

Hey Twinstream,

Thanks so much with the tips. I found XV-88 midnam from the website you gave me and it's free! Have not tested it yet but will do so tonight. Also, wondering what your opinions are comparing OS 9 and OS X. What do you like and not like about them? Do you use Logic in conjunction with Pro-tools and why yes and why no?

This seems to be a lengthy one, but it will be really helpful for my future purchases.....
