Re: Can Pro Tools HD8 run smooth with Mac 10.6.8 ?
Hi,
Compato grid lists 10.6.7 as the latest! but doesn't mean 10.6.8 does not work. from the compato pages..... http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=378691 Pro Tools|HD System Requirements with Pro Tools HD 8.1 and 8.1.1 Software For optimal performance and reliability, be sure that your computer or laptop meets the following minimum system requirements. Important: Avid dedicates a significant amount of engineering resources and time to test and qualify specific platform configurations. While such systems may operate without problems, please understand we cannot provide support should you choose to use a non-qualified system. Mac Systems Computer: Avid-qualified Apple computer (see details) System Software: Snow Leopard: Mac OS X 10.6.2, 10.6.3, 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, or 10.6.7 (32-bit) Total System RAM: 2GB minimum, 4GB or more recommended Chris

Re: Can Pro Tools HD8 run smooth with Mac 10.6.8 ?
I'm running 8.0.1. Since I upgraded Mac OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 seems like my timeline follows playback cursor is not smooth -- kind of stutters (pauses and then gaps forward). Not sure if that is related to updating to 10.6.8.

Re: Can Pro Tools HD8 run smooth with Mac 10.6.8 ?
We had to buy a new Mac Pro several weeks ago (replaced our 5 1/2 yr old Mac Pro). So, now we're running PT HD 8.0.5 on Mac OS 10.6.8. So far, its actually the smoothest running configuration we've had in over year since upgrading to 8 about this time last year.
I LOATHE updating Pro Tools because it takes so long to figure out a stable configuration of Pro Tools version+plug-in compatibility+Mac OS... We have ZERO interest in upgrading to PT HD 10 because of this.

I'm running 8.11 with 10.6.8 on a HD6 system. Seems stable, very few crashes. Mac Pro 2009 with 14 gig ram....

Re: Can Pro Tools HD8 run smooth with Mac 10.6.8 ?
this issue seems to have disappeared when I upgraded to 8.1.1. Running 8.1.1 with 10.6.8 for two days now with no issues -- small sample size so far, but better than 8.0.1 for me.

Re: Can Pro Tools HD8 run smooth with Mac 10.6.8 ?
Now that you guys have been running 8.1.1 with 10.6.8 for awhile, are you happy with it or would you recommend I stay at 8.0.5?
