Default Soundblaster

Would any of these reported problems with SB Live apply to their newer Audigy cards? If so, what are some good cards? I've been using SB for years so I have no idea what else is out there?

I'be also been using SB for years.
A quick note though with the excuse of Devin:
I once compared the audio quality of the Digi001 against a Sound Blaster Live! and noticed that the SB played my mix (made in PT) with excess of Bass.
I'm troubled just like my friend here, Devin, on what are some good cards? The turtle beach ones...?
Because if you use a second PC with a SB for, oh lets say um...Gigastudio for example, what happens when you record a part with cool Bass and then import it to the LE PC and the Bass is lacking, know what I mean?
Does this make sense?

Bounce the file to disk instead of routing it into ptle. That way you will not use your soundcard.

Would it be possible to have both the 001 and SbLive running together, and use the 001 for LE, and other audio app (using the wave driver)

And use the SB for games and DVD,s. I was thinking of running the outputs of the SB to inputs 3-4 on the 001 and then use monitor mode whenever i want to use the SB.

Will this work? I anyone running a SB and 001 in the same compouter, without duel boot or different hardware profiles?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">yup and its great. directsound drivers for your appz are the best becuase they're multi-client, so i routinely run soundfonts, reason and native instruments stuff all at the same time triggered from PT. can't do that with asio. it works VERY well in win98 but i'm having midi latency problems in XP.

if you're looking for tweaks for the soundblaster on winXP, join the club. if you just want to use it as a regular soundcard for playing mp3s or whatever then the driver that XP loads automatically is more than good enough for that.

all my soft synths run as standalone programs on the SB directsound drivers - no host program (cubase/sonar/logic) necessary... i think all native instruments stuff runs as standalone and vst. reason, of course, also can be run standalone.

i'm using a SB live card as a patch farm, routing the midi from PTLE out through the SB card, and back into PT through the SPDIF left and right. it's a way to use that interface, that card when they are otherwise uselesser. ptch.
