Best SCSI Card
We have been using an Adaptec 2940UW with our 9600/G3-500 (by Newertech) with Seagate Barracuda drives (LVDs) that are rated for burst throughput of 160mb. We are in the process of upgrading to Cheetahs and at the same time want to consider a faster/better SCSI controller.
1. What is the fastest/best scsi conroller that will work with Pro Tools reliably? 2. Does the burst rate and/or throughput rating of th newer Cheetah drives really even matter where Pro tools is concerned? 3. I think I remember someone from Pro tools telling me that PT only require 10mb per second burst rate. That may have been true but we are really starting to experience slower responses and screen draws, etc. There must be something that we can do. Any ideas please? Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] but posting here may help out others too. |
