Default Building an external HDD vs purchasing

The title pretty much says it all. I'm looking into buying this external HDD http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other.../MEAQ7750GB32/ and was wondering if anyone has built something comparable for cheaper? (I'm thinking around $100 U.S., otherwise it's not really worth the hassle to me).

Default Re: Building an external HDD vs purchasing

i bought an external case with USB and E-Sata for about $30, and $59 for a 750GB Western Digital Cavier Black Hard drive 32 MB cache. It would be more if you want a Firewire case. I use E-SATA for both my externals.
