extra suffixes for split stereo tracks...
When I import a split stereo track (file.L and file.R) if Protools renames the file (most often does) it renames it file.L.wav or file.L.sd2 or file.L.aif The secondary suffix thus makes the new file invisible to programs looking for the .L/.R suffix.
I'm running Protools HD 7.1 on os 10.4.7. This is a pretty annoying problem, has it been addressed in any of the subsequent Protools upgrades? Again - import file.L and file.R protools renames it to file.L.wav and file.R.wav (or.sd2 or .aif) Thoughts? Thanks much, |

Re: extra suffixes for split stereo tracks...
In many cases, especially when interfacing with other OS's, the extra suffix is very welcome. If you often find yourself in a situation where you want to import a lot of PT audio files without them, a batch rename utility could be handy. I like this one: http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/
The use of suffixes solves more problems than it creates, in my opinion. |
