Mic Pre-amps from a NAGRA 4.2
Does anyone know much about the mic pre's that come in a NAGRA 4.2. I have one which is fitted with the QPU-T and the QPAU-T pre's.
I ask this as I am thinking of trying them instead of the pre's that come in the Control24. I am guessing that some of you may say that"anything is better", but I am looking for somthing a little more constructive. I have hooked it up and it sounds good to me. Sounds less 'whoofy' in the bottom end. Anyone? cheers rosco |

Re: Mic Pre-amps from a NAGRA 4.2
Those mic pres have a nice beefy sound to them but aren't particularly quiet by current standards, esp for studio recording (ie w/o location ambience to mask the preamp noise). Try it--see what you think?
Packaging and powering outside a Nagra will be a bit of a challenge. Philip Perkins |
