7.3.1 Displays very weird track behavior!
I have just upgraded to 7.3 and have the latest version. I am editing sound effects while working with a quicktime movie
I am encountering some very strange things happening with tracks in the edit window during editing. 1. Tracks automatically resizing while editing. Tracks go from mini or small view to medium view without prompting. 2. Tracks will change position within the timeline, allthough no regions move, I have ended up in completely different areas of the timeline without prompting. 3. Tracks change status while editing for no reason. For instance, when I am editing volume automation, the track status changes from volume view to waveform view by itself, whenever I select an area to edit. Other twilight zone like things are happening with tracks that I cannot describe fully here, but will someone wake Rod Serling up so he can tell me what part of the Zone I'm in??? Meanwhile I will don my aluminum foil hat and see if that helps any... I've tried repairing permissions, dumping the Digi database, and I've checked preferences to see if there are any new weird settings toggled. I can find nothing to account for this in preferences. My System is: Mac Dual 2.0 with 2.5 GB Ram running system 10.4.8 Pro Tools HD 2-192 I/O running PT 7.3.1cs2 I'm using the Structure Beta on the movie. Has anyone else experienced this behavior???

Re: 7.3.1 Displays very weird track behavior!
Press the magic button "E"
the zoom behaviour is different in PT7. It stores your last setting. So if you enabled "E" and switch to pan automation on track A, then move the cursor to track B, track A will switch back to its former view (inculding zoom setting and automation view). Track B now will change its zoom and automation view. Set the cursor back to track A, and A will return to pan automation, as that's where you left track A when you jumped to the track B. Hope this makes sense. Quite an annoying feature - but, believe me, it can be helpful as well! Hope this helps, Timothy |

Yes,
The suggestion about the track zoom toggle worked to stop the problems... Thanks
