Default Sleep, wake, airport, usb on MAC OS X

Hi,

Running PTLE7.1 and MBOX2 on Mac OS 10.4.5 powerbook. I was wondering what the best way to handle sleep. When recording I don't allow sleep, but for example overnight the computer goes to sleep (I normally do not shut down at all). Is it best to unplug the mbox before sleep or unplug-replug on wake?

Most USB devices show up on the desktop and have an eject button. I think it is good practice to eject first and then physically disconnect in general as sometimes you can corrupt state on the device or the computer (the OS will frequently warn you if you pull out a USB thumb drive, for example). The mbox does not show up on the desktop. Is it safe to disconnect and reconnect arbitrarily? What are the consequences if I have phantom power on?

Finally, I've seen warnings to turn airport off. Is this just a good idea or is something likely to break?

Well in terms of "ejecting" the mbox, since the Mbox isn't a volume like a hard drive or USB flash drive, unpluging it wouldn't cause lost or currupt data.

When I had my Mbox, I would leave it plugged in when I put my computer to sleep. I do the same thing you do, i never turn of my computers.

I've run sessions with AirPort on and off, and I've never had any big issues with it on, although turning it off can't hurt.
