5.0 save/save as/new icon huh

pt 5.0/mixplus/1 vin farm/9600/g3 300 newertech card/os 8.6
look i know its early here on the east coast and i maybe i'm not fully recovered from last nights pt session but whats up with save/save as. do i have to rename each one of my 60 or so spots that i'm working on. when i open up a 4.3.1 session and do some edits and try to save pt will not let me just save. it comes up as a save as. but i don't want to save as and change the name cause then mezzo will freak cause it no longer tracks the file. also my icon is no longer a tape reel, it looks like a document with pt and a midi din plug. i really hope that its some user error(thats me) or is it 8.6 os. or what. i know i can rename and delete the old session an all that , but what a pain in the @#$ any help would be most appreciated...
