DAE error 9060, 9061 / white noise
A lot of people are posting about this, and being told that they should go look at the rest of the forum because it's already been answered. But I scoured the site, and google, everywhere, and I couldn't find anything but vague suggestions. If there is a fix, just please link me to it, that would be great.
I have an M-Audio Fast track pre-amp thing, and it came with Protools SE. When I record, on playback sometimes the track will just be insane white noise, or sometimes the whole song will be corrupted, sometimes 10 seconds of it will be 10 seconds from a previous song that I've recorded, sometimes it says "DAE error 9060" or "9061" or a number of them all together one after the other, sometimes nothing, it'll just give me crazy white noise. Sometimes it'll actually record sound properly, how about that! But only sometimes. I was told by the guy from Allan's music that this hardware and software would work on Vista. So that sucks, and any help would be appreciated. (Note, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't even find any "options" for this program. Only basic preferences) I run Vista 32 bit 2 gb RAM Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz I met the minimum system requirements on the back of the box by quite a bit, by the way. I know my machine sucks, but it shouldn't be that. |

Re: DAE error 9060, 9061 / white noise
When microsoft designed Windows Vista they did not forsee all the issues it gave when it finally came out.
So many users complained about Vista that it was a complete failure for microsoft. They started to loose alot of money and support because of their new product. They had to solve this issue quickly without loosing their new windows design. They sent out fixes and updates, but it was all over for Vista. Users was fed up with it- and many went back to XP or switched over to MAC So all microsoft did, was they made minor changes to the GUI, fixed all the bugs, slapped a new name on it, and so Windows 7 was born. Just get another version of Windows- Like 7 or XP... Then everthing would be OK |

Re: DAE error 9060, 9061 / white noise
Although it's not supported on Vista, try disabling any CPU throttling utilities as these can cause problems with playback and recording: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=...8acfeadc811cf2

Issue resolved! dae error 9060 windows7 Hp windows7 sp1 1.65Ghz, 4 g RAM. ProTools Se 8.0.3 I resolved the error message as well as playback distortions by doing these things. First disable power management settings such as sleep mode, HD to sleep, ect. Follow the steps listed in the FAQ/trouble shooting guide about optimizing windows. you may need to disable Norton A/V and the Norton firewall.(right click icon in system tray) You may need to disconnect your wi-fi, although I didn't find it necessary. Next is to run the compatability issue feature. (right click Pro tools icon on the desktop, select trouble shoot compatibilities, and let windows select best settings. probably will be windows xp sp2. it will ask if settings worked. keep that window open for now, don't select anything yet.) Pro Tools will open, windows will ask permission to make changes select yes. Now set up your Pro tools preferences. File-preferences- //audio tab -should list fast track, and select for recording or performing.// control surfaces- if you have a midi keyboard select in drop down, otherwise none.// session tab- sample rate 44.1 kHz, bit rate 24-bit. Then check the latency rate (right click on avid icon in system tray, open m audio control panel- mine is set to 128. if you experience lag or popping ajust the buffer higher. If these settings worked, then select save settings in the compatibility issue window that we ignored earlier. When you open Pro Tools now, the user account control window will ask- Do you want program to make changes? click yes, Pro Tools now thinks you are running xp. Its a major pain to set up, but it is definately worth it. The issues are definately windows7 related. I used this program for a year on my old machince running xp without any problems. I hope this helped. |
