Instrument track doesn't register midi input in 7.4

Just upgraded to 7.4 and now my instrument tracks don't register notes played on Axiom 49. In the "instrument view" I choose the Ax49 as input device, and can even see volume in the tiny inst. view meter, but with Xpand or Structure loaded, nothing registers in the track view meters.

What am I missing? Thanks.

Try record arming the track.

Thanks, but the track is record enabled. When I setup a Midi track, I get a pressure sensitive signal on the meters. Isn't it odd that a midi track sees the Ax49, but the instrument track right next to it isn't able to detect it? Even when I choose the Ax49 as the midi input device...

Alright, mysteriously fixed! Re-instantiated Structure on one of the instrument tracks and the midi output in instrument view changed to "Structure..." Suddenly there was signal and sound! Similarly, put Xpand on the next track and the midi output changed to Xpand.

All is fine except for the weather.
