Upgrading OS from Win98 to XP or Win2000

I know this may sound ignorant on my part, but I need to know if I can upgrade my PC's Operating System from Win98 to Win2K and still have my Digi001 perform correctly. I am currently running Protools version 5.0.1, and I would like to know if there is an upgrade available that would allow me to replace my Win98 OS with something that will be supported in the future without going broke replacing the software. It's not clear to me what is available from the upgrades page of the website. Any suggestions?

Pro Tools LE 5.0.1 supports Win 98SE:
