Default Digi002 Windows Problems

OK, I am pulling my hair out here. I recently bought a Digi002 off of Ebay. Came with the full manual and Version 5.3.2. It was never registered. I installed it onto my laptop to mess around and after several attempts, I got it to work. Now, I've built a computer just for Pro Tools and I cannot seem to get it to work properly. I will give you a rundown of the technical side to my new computer and then my questions and problems.

Computer:
Soyo P41865PE Plus Motherboard
Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz Processor
1.00 Gig of Ram
Adaptec 3 port Fire Wire Card
Maxtor 80 gig Fire Wire External Drive (audio only)
Windows XP Pro (with Service Pack 1) OS

Here's my problem. When I boot up, it shows that I have new hardware (Digi002). According to the insert that came with Pro Tools, I am supposed to ignore that and open up the install disc and install Pro Tools with the Found New Hardware window open. I did that and it still cannot recognize the hardware. Even when I go through the full install process, my computer can see the Digi002 there, but does not recognize it when I start the Pro Tools program. It keeps giving me an error and says to make sure the unit is connected and powered up (it is).

I went through the bios an disabled Hyper Threading and ahave searched for anyting else that may be hanging things up and cannot find it.

I also do not get the "1394" light to light up on the top side of the Digi002. I get the Fire Wire light on the back side of the unit to light but that's it.

I have tried to be a thourough as I could be with the problem and the system I have. If I've forgotten anything and you need more info I will gladly provide it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have you checked if your FireWire card works with any other FireWire device(s)? Which IRQ is you FireWire on, and is it being shared with anything else?

Keep me posted. I am about 3 days behind you however I purchased the Digi 002 new from SameDayMusic. Scares me to even begin the install until the weekend after all I have read. Good luck. I have all the newest inserts and bugs as of earlier this week. Let me know what you afre working with as far as inserted corrections to the documentation and if mine is different I will send you a copy of the paper I got.
