Digi Midi I/O and Oxygen 8
Hi, I just picked up a Digi Midi i/o to control my digi pre amps. I'm also using an Oxygen 8. I was wondering if there would be a problem using both USB powered Midi interfaces? Both are being powered from a USB hub, connected to a G4 dual 1.25
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance |

Re: Digi Midi I/O and Oxygen 8
You may run into problems with having enough power from the USB hub to supply both units. However, the MIDI I/O can also be powered from an external power supply. Check the MIDI I/O for specs on the power supply.
Hope this helps, MasterJ |

Re: Digi Midi I/O and Oxygen 8
Thanks Master J,
That's what I was afraid for. I read somewhere in the specs though that if you power the midi i/o from a pwr supply it will work in Midi through only. I guess there's no way around it, just have to mess with the USB busses and powered USB hubs. I already have a Gefen USB extender to connect the keyboard and mouse, but when I connect the Oxygen 8 to that I get hanging notes and an enormous latency between touching the keys and hearing a sound. But when I connect the Oxygen 8 directly to the computer, it seems to be fine. Any ideas about that? |
