Default Mute Automation Inquiry-- Match, extend, erase etc..

Hello all

I did a quick check in the manual for this question but couldnt find anything. Im sure Id find something if I wasnt so lazy.. that being said....

Is there a comparable way to change mute data in PT as one does on the SSL 9K with match and play?

For example, if i write in a bunch of mute/unmutes in an 8 bar phrase. Then I decide I want to keep the exact place where the first mute occurs, but then "match" the status of the button (which is muted) and have it keep the mute thru the phrase (erasing any unmutes) then "playing out" the last mute.

Ok that sounds confusing, but SSL users will know what I mean.
It looks like this:
MUTE.....ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF..UNMUTE
I want to change that to:
MUTE.................UNMUTE

Yes, I can draw it in, but I want to know if there is a way to do it with the fader mute buttons. Like maybe I have to hold Command when I click the mute button and will match the current status of the button, but begin writing new data.

Hmm.. still sounds confusing...Im not explaining this well but...

If anyone knows what Im getting at, please chime in..
thanks!
MT

All you have to do is put the automation for the channel in "auto latch" mode. The automation will stay in what ever state you change it to along the way until you change it again.
