Default S3L-X twice the RAM of S3L

Just noticed that the new S3L-X systems have twice the RAM of the "old" S3L systems. Is there any way for us early adopters to increase our RAM?

Ok - what exactly is NEW in the S3L-X???
Ok - double the RAM - but what else could be the reason they call it -X?

Just feeling a little bit confused (bought my S3L) a couple of months ago.

Yeah - i read all of this - but whats the difference (except the doubled amount of RAM) of S3L-X and S3L with Venue 4.5?
Is there a change in Hardware also?
Anybody knows something?

Default S3L-X twice the RAM of S3L

From Avid Live Sound on Facebook

Hi - existing S3L customers will be provided a simple upgrade path so they get many of the benefits of S3L-X. Stay tuned for details!

I bet the controller output path has been upgrade for studio use. Higher sample rates, expanded plugin controller for native.

With the new Apogee and Avid alliance I wonder if the converters have changed...

Hi
We should wait for Avid clarification first.
We S3L owners paying for developing S3L-X, sitting on an old desk.
Outhhhsch.... that would hurt......

While I think we will get most of the new functionality of the S3L-X with the new Venue 4.5 software update, I don't think we are going to get the new headphone amp or RAM upgrade. Which is why I asked. How hard would it be to upgrade the RAM on the E3? It is just a PC with an HD card after all....

I have chosen the S3L a couple of months ago cause it was the newest Board and I was told that development of the Software just started.
To be honest - know i have the feeling i invested wrong.
Even if we get an Update with most of the features - if there is an Hardware Change as other Preamps, higher Sampke Rate, better Headphone Amp. Maybe a new , stronger DSP Board in it - i consoder myself fooled.

I think you'll be fine no matter what. Your system will still work great.
