Default Eucon is Unable to connect to "McMix 2"

Here you go,
I restarted my computer and one of my units ceased to work properly.

Eucon is no longer connecting to it, even through it can see it.
Tried plugging it directly into the router (instead of the switch) and I am getting the same problem. Restarted the computer, the router and the switch about a zillion times.

Hours wasted with no progress...

Help!

Well, it seems the last restart did the trick, it's ok now.

Removed it from the switch, plugged it into the router, restarted the router, restarted the computer and it works.

For some weird reason one of my units doesn't work with the switch anymore.

Hi,
I'm getting the same problem today even through the unit is plugged in the router directly instead of the switch.

Every-time I restart my computer one of my Artist Mix (always the same one) is not connecting with EuControl.

When this happen I have no other hope than to restart the computer a few times until finally it is eventually recognized. That's quite a pain actually, specially when your work template take 10 minutes to load and you realize the broken Eucontrol connection after it's loaded.

Any advice would be really appreciated else I might have to ship that unit back to Avid. I can't figure out why it's doing this and only that unit.

It says "available" but when I add it it disconnects 3 seconds after.

Maybe try a different ethernet cable? Sometimes those things don't securely attach because the little prong on the connector either wears down, breaks, or just doesn't seat all the way and connect solidly. Or the cable itself could be intermittent.

Can you reset the router to it's original state? I know those things can go bananas over time and a full reset often straightens it out.

I had somewhat similar problems when I first installed my Artist Control. The final solution was to delete the Euphonix folder from your Application Support folder in the Library, then uninstall and reinstall.

Macintosh HD->Library->Application Support->Euphonix->DELETE!!!!!

Hope this helps.

Yes I did restart it today. Currently it works, but if I often have to restart my router and computer a few times after a shutdown. Thanks (I would like one that doesn't go bananas)! Maybe Avid should make their own router...

Thanks, I will also try this. I also had this problem when I first bought it, but I didn't shut down my computer/modem in 2 months and had no problems (until I finally did a restart this week).

What method you using to configure the Artist unit(s) IP address ?

I've personally had great results leaving the Artist units doing DHCP, and registering their MAC addresses in my DHCP server such that each unit always gets the same IP address every time it boots.

( this is sometimes known as "static DHCP" )

But I've never tried it any other way, so can't claim this is any better.
