Default Pro Control sleep leds flickering

2 in a row!

When the Pro Control sleeps the leds flicker, is that normal?
It looks like a faulty power supply or connection but everything else seems fine.

Is it a bad idea to let it sleep?

Not a PC owner, but was not aware that it had a "sleep" function. Are you referring to the computer going to sleep? Sleep and hibernation should be disabled on a Pro Tools computer

+1

Never use any powersaving features on a PT machine.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm referring to ProControl not Pro Tools actually, no stress with the software though. PT10 - no hibernation other than monitor.

However the PC has a sleep mode that lowers power to the leds after a given time. But they flicker quite oddly, it looks terrible, like a supply is failing.

Just wanted to confirm with another PC owner that it's normal for the unit. I suspect it's ok as everything else is fine but if not I'll need to consider getting another power supply to check it.

Given the vintage of the PC, and the number of power supply and wiring issues from 002 and Control24(similar vintage) that would not be a surprise at all

Yep, that's what I think too.
Whether I start chasing it up is another thing all together.
Still, if anyone is running a PC and has a moment to check it'd be great to know :)

It is normal for PC to flicker in sleep/dim mode.
