Default Re: S3L - The early death of a sweet console and what could follow?

Would you be willing to give up overall channel/bus count for 96k?

What's the reasoning for the need? Sound quality? Interaction with other devices? Latency? integrating into S6L?

Definitely some AVB things coming along, you'll see a few HUGE name companies in a functional partnership pretty soon all unified on AVB as the professional audio solution.

In terms of pickoffs, what's the most important one to add if you had to pick one, and what's the workflow?

And the rest I think are all pretty self explanatory, so no questions needed :)

Some of these have been in research and development for a bit and fortunately a lot of the things I've pursued on S6L can potentially parallel into S3L and give that little guy some serious workflow power.

I've always been on the side of getting things done, and figuring out how to get everyone solutions faster with more efficiently and with serious reliability. So let's make this move forward together.

Ryan, please only go 96khz if you also keep the 48khz option.

96khz eats up so much resources on both, the desk itself and on the Pro Tools tracking system. I personally do not believe in 96k sounding any better...

My list:

1. DSP!
2. ipad app
3. more buses
4. aux sends on buses, bus to bus routing capability
5. AVB inserts for Waves
6. VU meter bug fix on Avid plugins

yes. eg. 40 In/32 Out for 96k

integrating into S6L?

yes please.

Variable Bus configuration (see s6l) in combination with free usage of DSP 13-16…

As Jeffloewe said: 96k is ok with a decrease in channel count when it is optional!

Pickoff point: for applications where I do Monitor mix from foh I would want to change the pre fader aux to Pre dynamics and pre insert per channel.
Sometimes I don't have enough channels to make a monitor split.

Integration to S6 would be a huge selling point i think

Default S3L - The early death of a sweet console and what could follow?

1. Venue v.5. With all the cool stuff from S6L. I imagine a screen with 16 channels, similar to a S6L fader bank display. Displaying the banked 16 channels. That workflow would be really useful!

2. iPad App

3. Unlock DSP and maybe Engine upgrades (RTX based)

4. More inputs/busses.

5. More open to other AVB products.

6. More stagebox options. 24 in only and 24 out only.

7. On-screen keyboard. That would make the system way more portable.

Oh I forgot: i wouldn't mind another 2U Rack for more DSP / HDX Cards, that can be connected when needed.

Optimization for touch screen, universe and multi channel venues, improved plugin mapping with better encoder response, and all the things everyone else is mentioning.

This is great stuff!

Would any of you like to be on Beta to go through these feature sets? Or just hop on the phone with me one of these days?
