Default Where are my punch-in, punch-out markers?

For some reason my punch in and out markers seem to dissappear from my ruler. These are the markers that let you know when your punch will star recording. They're gone and I can't get them back. Please tell me how to get them back. Thanks. -

22 views without a reply? Did I not do a good enough job of describing the problem?

Try reading page 241 in the 6.7 reference guide and see if that helps.

I don't seem to have a "guide" that has that many pages. You do understand that we are in the ProTools LE section? Perhaps someone can just tell me the answer?

In your Pro Tools Help menu.. look in the "Pro Tools Reference Guide" on the above pages.

The guide is a pdf on your system, available from the help menu within Pro Tools. If it is not there (likely since you're running 6.4), you should Install it and the rest of the documentation. You can also view or download it here online.

Highly recommended reading material.

From that page:
Quote:
Pro Tools lets you link or unlink the Edit and
Timeline selections.
By default, the Edit and Timeline selections are
linked. In this mode, selecting in a track’s playlist
(an Edit selection) also defines the play and
record range (the Timeline selection).
Unlinking Edit and Timeline selections lets you
make a selection within a track for editing purposes
that is distinct from the selection in the
Timeline (which determines the playback and
recording range).
To unlink the Edit and Timeline selections:
+ Deselect Operations > Link Edit and Timeline
Selection.
– or –
+ In the upper left of the Edit window, click the
Link Selection button so it becomes unhighlighted.
It sounds to me like this is the issue you are looking for.

Chapter 12 has a whole section on punch recording (starting on page 163) with a section about setting punch points on page 168.

Make sure to select Operations > Link Edit and Timeline Selection.
