Default Virtual Instruments (GPO)

Can anyone tell me why using virtual instruments like Garritan Personal Orchestra is like pulling my teeth out one by one in ProTools, but they run without problems in Cubase? In PT it overloads my H/W buffer size all the time, I export the SAME Midi file to Cubase, use the same plugins, and it runs without a problem. Is it because ProTools requires a higher samplerate or something? Admittedly I am using a slow setup, but it works well in Cubase, so why not ProTools?

Thanks,

Wizdoom
