thinking today of the passing of robert palmer..

a great innovator....

"clues" was one of the first "modern" pop recordings - sequencers, synths, etc

used a yellow sequencer called "the wasp"

i know all about kraftwerk but robert was using this stuff to make true "pop" music

forget the fact that he was years ahead of paul simon and peter gabriel in introducing
"world music" to western popular music..

I agree - Clues was an underappreciated song! I compensated for this by overplaying it on my college radio show.

Hope Digi & the members of the DUC won't mind a slice of space to spend a moment to remember a fallen member of the cause.

Robert Palmer really was an innovator of (and with) style - it's good to see (based on what they are saying on his webpage) that he went out on a high note.

My brief experience witnessing Power Station (had the good fortune to get a concert) impressed the hell out of me, they were much MUCH better live than on album... I'll never understand why that group didn't do better than it did. Growing up in the 70's & 80's I saw alot of talented artists trying to establish a "sound" that was truly their own... Bob had a unique signature -no doubt.

Just goes to show - every day is a gift that no one should take for granted.

God rest his soul.
