Default AES interface

Hi.

Does someone by any chance know if there was a PT12 compatible interface that doesn't cost a fortune but has AES input and analog (XLR) output? Preferably host connection via ThunderBolt, but I guess ThunderBolt and lowcost don't come together

Suggestions..?

Not really, no. Intel charges a fortune for the licensing, so the hardware ends up being pricey.

If it makes any difference, Thunderbolt is way overkill for audio applications, unless you're planning on daisy chaining several devices. (you probably knew that already...)

Look at a used Motu traveler. Has AES/EBU or the 11Rack hehe. Used for like 350-500 dollars which is like 300-ish Euro and has AES aswell. Uses USB2 but well tried and tested. We use one a lot and sounds extremely good.

The MOTU Traveler has the Usual Moto sound which equals really good. New they are over 1200 USD so find one for less than 450 Euro and you're folden. Saw one here in stockholm last night when u posted this for less than 4000 swedish kronor which is about 500 Euro in mint condition.

Just a few on top of my head I know is quality Gear. 11R is more much more than just a interface and you will use it for guitars later on for sure. Have one for 3500 swedish kronor here in mint condition with expansion.

I thought that was firewire, unless of course there's a USB version?
