Default PT 10 HD startup slow

When I launch the app it's very slow. It takes forever to get through the "Setting up midi" stage...

Any ideas?

Boe

Was this just the initial launch or all?

I have trashed the prefs, but it still takes about 5min to launch.
The last 4 mins is on "Setting Up MIDI".

Is this usual?

Hm - yes I think so. Should I uninstall and install again?

That's what I do every time to be safe. Especially when going up a whole version number.

If it is getting hung up on "Setting Up Midi", your problem is likely with Apple's Audio Midi Setup. To test this, reboot, and then launch AMS. Does it launch properly, or get hung up? If hung up, it might be out-dated interface drivers. There are in:

Library -> Audio -> Midi Drivers

A clean uninstall is always a wise move when upgrading PT.
