Default PTLE 8 on a newer mac mini

I am currently using a windows workstation with MBOX (3rd gen) PTLE 8.0.5. I want to switch to a Mac mini. Can someone tell me if the following Mac minis will run PTLE 8.x and, if so, which is a better choice?

1. Mac mini 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with Snow Leopard, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics (2010)

2. Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 with MAC OS X, Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor (2011)

I know these are not "officially supported". I assume I must have Snow Leopard and FW 400 adapter. Just want to know if PTLE 8 will run OK on either or both of these?

regards

Its not the hardware that will stop you. Its the version of OSX that you get. 8.x may NOT be compatible with the last few like Snow Leopard or LION Check the compatibility grid so you know before you buy(unless you don't mind updating to 9 or 10 if required).

I am running lion 10.7.4 on a new iMac and cannot properly run PT8.0.5. Be ready, you will have to upgrade. Sweetwater has good crossgrade deals.
