which imac would i need?

Hello, i plan on getting an imac sometime in the next 2 wks & i was curious as to what you guys would do. i'm switching from a pc & i'm running PTMP 6.8, Reason adapted express, waves musicians bundle2 & wavelab essential. so, would you think i should go w/ the regular G5 imac, or go ahead & get the new intel imac & wait for my PTMP to be compatable w/ that? i really need help making a decision on this. BTW, is there anybody out there that has used or using Logic Pro. thanx in advance for any advice i need it bad.
