C8 faders follow selected

I have always thought that I need to press CMD+Shift+click to pick a channel to display on Command 8 but recently somehow I pressed something and C8 was automatically switching channels as soon as I clicked them in PT mixer (no keyboard shortcut needed). It was working like that for some time and died at some point going back to standard operation mode and so I wonder does anyone know how to activate it as I loved this, it makes life so much easier!
