Default El Capitan OSX

Hello Folks,

Does anyone have a Trash Can Mac Pro and was having random freezes (beachball) and the only way to restart the mac is to use the power button?

Do El Capitan release solve this issue ??

It must have been a graphic card driver issue or so ...

Heya mate, just a warning el capitan seems to have problem with pro tools so you might not want to go that way, it's not approved by Avid yet either.

Several plugin manufacturers sent out warnings not to upgrade to El Capitan, yet.
So - don't.

Hey mates .... thanks a lot for the replies I did receive the emails from the manufacturers but what I meant was if the OSX by itself is rock solid ... nevermind the plugins and DAWs for now ... I used to have freezing issues in Yosemite

If you're having freezing issues you most certainly will have them in El Capitan. What are you doing to cause the freezing? What's running on your machine? Any processes in the background? And have you done the latest efi update?

I've had stability issues when I ran Yosemite but never any freezing issues.

As an operating system (because I dumped pro tools) El Capitan has been amazing. I upgraded a few days ago and there has been a noticeable speed increase with opening apps and doing tasks. The split screen apps is pretty cool too.

I would wipe the Trashcan completely. Reinstall Yosemite then PT. No third party Plugins. See if u still have the issue. Could be some conflicting remnants of upgrades, bad Plugins, etc. Install your other daws and see if u all good. Then third party plugins one by one and check n see if the issue is still there.

It's a hassle to this but it's better than chasing ghosts for weeks and it helps narrow down the issue.

Sometimes it really does take a drastic move like you're talking about; been there had to do that. Sometimes one gets to trying demos of stuff and there's no uninstaller or things don't get uninstalled completely so a complete wipe is in order.
