Default Digi 003 won't go into Pro Tools Aggregate I/O ??

In my Audio Midi Setup on Snow Leopard, I can't seem to get my 003 to show in an aggregate device.

Why not?

I'm up to date with both the 003 drivers and PT 9.0.3

Pretty sure you can't use the digi interfaces as an aggregate.

002/003 family as well as TDM hardware are not compatible with Aggregate I/O.

They should at least give us some drivers with the option. It's almost as if they don't want us to buy the hardware now....

What they want is for you to abandon the old hardware and buy their new hardware and controllers. They also don't give you the option to use your 003 controller as just a controller while using other I/O's without going through your 003 I/O Digitally. They know if they do this, tons of people will buy used 003's for just controllers only and not buy their Euphonix controllers.

Not exactly the case. The 003 hardware wasn't designed to be multi-client - meaning the controller chips in it aren't capable of handling multiple clients simultaneously. We've looked at ways to get around this, but it's a limitation of the hardware.

Hmm, okay , but it will work as controller ,ala command 8, as will the 002. That's prob just firmware tweek. Or maybe its also hardware limitation, but wait it already is controller, if your using protools. But not without i/o. You guys are gonna make us buy those mattel controllers aren't you, or the obscene msrp on the c24. Well thanks.

Well, I got the OPPOSITE situation ie: the AGGREGATE i is the only HW visible in the PT HD setup although 1- in the Sound Control panel the Digidesign HW (003) is visible and selected for Input and Output. and 2- in the Midi and Audio Configuration app (v3.03) the same selection is shown for Input and Output.
I can see a "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O" line showing internal Mac sound paths but not Protools Digidesign HW (003)
