Default how to split session into smaller sessions

Here's the scenario:

You've just run a tracking session- the band played 6 songs. The audio files folder amounts to about 6 GB. You want to sub divide so that each song has it's own session file and audio files folder of about 1 GB each.

How to do this most efficiently, clearing unwanted audio data.

Thanks in advance!

This won't give you a separate audio files folder, but its an option...

or if you definitely want separate audio files folders, you could create 6 new sessions "Song A, B, C" etc, and import the tracks from the original session, assuming the tracks of each song all start at the same time, and there aren't overdubs. If there are, consolidating each song before importing would work

do Save As 6 times (naming each for song title)
open each copy remove the takes from the Timeline that do not go with the song (DO NOT DELEAT from the list)
use Save Session Copy In for each song and only copy the audio files that are one the Timeline

this is how to get 6 new session with 6 separate Audio Files folders

Thanks for the suggestions! Both work but I wish there was a more efficient way of achieving pared down song files & folders.

My only problem with importing audio files is that they stay in their original location. I would like the audio files for each song to end up in the audio files folder of that song. What seems to accomplish that is to consolidate after importing and then removing unwanted files (not deleting).

The "do save as 6 times" procedure works only if after opening the new files one does "select unused" and "clear (delete)". Without this last step the audio file folder remains the same size as before. And it's unfortunate that one has to copy (save copy in...) the WHOLE audio track(s) and then delete it.

So if you've got 6 songs recorded for a total of 6 GB you end up copying 36 GB of data and THEN paring down to 6 folders (songs) totaling 6 GB. You can imagine the time and hard drive space needed if the album session totaled 50 GB over 12 songs!!!

Anyway, mission accomplished and thanks for the help!
