PT/HDX purchase as second station/room

I'm still running a HD system in one room and would like to purchase another Pro-tools system for a second room. Has anyone had problems when purchasing an HDX system while still running a older system. ILOC problems, problems with older system because of forced upgrade path.......

Oh come on give some details... What exactly is the "older system"? Pro Tools HD TDM? HD native? What exact Pro Tools Version?

You are going to have to check HDX (or native) plugin availability/compatibility.

Do you have to purchase new interface boxes as well?

You want to move sessions between the systems?
Which way? Roundtrip between systems?
Do you really need HDX for low-latency plugin/monitoring reasons or can you save $$$ with Native or even a non-Digilink system? How many IO do you need? Fancy surround monitoring etc?

Yes, PTHD TDM, version 8.0.

Bottom line is I'm keeping TDM system and need to know if Avid is corrupt my my old system with regards to ILOC. Is Avid going screw with my dongle....?

I just need to add a system without any attachments to old system.

I am not sure why you are worried about an iLok... there are much more real things to worry about that I mentioned.

This is not going to mess with your iLok, but you are going to set up another iLok with a Pro Tools Ultimate and DigiLink Licenses on it... if running anything after Pro Tools 12.6(?) you will need that DigiLink License.
