Video track in black when played back

Hi everyone,

This is the issue I am having: when I import the video file the track shows black thumbnails and the main video screen window is in black too. When I playback the audio works fine but the video stays in full black.

Any idea why and if it's possible to solve this?

OS Yosemite 10.10.5
Pro Tools Native 11.3
M-Audio ProFire 26/26 interface
Video kind: MPEG-4 movie
Video codecs: H.264, AAC
Video fps: 24

Video kind: MPEG-4 movie
Video codecs: H.264

While that is supported, it is not advised to work with this codec in Pro Tools. What happens if you convert the video to either ProRes or Avid DNxHD?

What mac are you using? It sounds like it doesn't support the video engine in 11.
As above that codec isn't great either.

I tried with another video that was in ProRes format but got the same issue.
I then converted it into DNxHD but nothing changed.

I really have no idea how to fix this!

I am on an 2009 macbook pro machine, OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 running Pro Tools 11.3

What exact PT11 version do you have? PT11.3.2 added support for OSX 10.10.5
Also how much ram do you have?
What exact Mac do you have and what's the video card?
