Creative collection error 2147213312

I have came to my ropes end with this problem and try everything I know plus some of the advice in some of this threads. first I like to say I don't own a kenstoning mouse or track ball now with that out of the way. I was running PT 7.4 and got the free upgrade to 8.0. So I uninstall 7.4 and delete all the files and folder then I install PT 8.0 serveral times and keep getting the same error that creative collection returned error 214723312 then when i click ok another window pop up and says " some pro tool audio file conversion requires certain microsoft wondows media files that are not persent on this system to place these files on this system, please run the windows media installer on the pro tools install cd1" I don't have the cd becuase this was a downlaod I've try to talk to digi tech support but they are not replying to me and I'm tried of wait. can anyone help me

I am starting to regret my venture into Pro Tools and Digidesign. I have the same problem and seem to get no answers on this subject either

This is usually caused by not fully unzipping the installer contents before running the installer.

After downloading, unzip the entire folder before running the installer - make sure you have the latest version of WinZip.

Digi is sending me a new installation DVD we'll see if that works

The file cannot be unzipped - neither winzip nor winrar can unzip it. I've been getting this error too.

i have the exact same problem, i've been trying for 2 days now and it's extremely frustrating. the installation completes itself, with the exception of the creative collection. the worst part about it is that opened software cannot be returned, and i'm regretting considering pro tools in the first place.

i'm calling tech support in the morning, but if all that comes of it is a new installation disc i'm going with cubase.

there is obviously something in our systems preventing the installation from completing properly, and im pretty sure it's not in the disc, or the unzipping of files.

if software is going to be released with bugs, at LEAST be prepared to tell us what to do to fix it!

What happens when you try to unzip the files? Are you using the latest version of WinRar?

Did you unzip the entire archive before trying to install it? As indicated above, this error occurs if the archive is not fully unzipped before installation.

i have the boxed version, and there are no zip files on the disc.
