002 Console Issue, Faders Wont Move (grounding issue?)
I just moved and got my LE rig back up and my faders won't budge! The 002 is sitting on a new table, but everything else is the same.
Same powerstrip, power cable, firewire cable, monitor cables ect. I've trashed prefs, swapped power cables, changed outlets and power strips and nothing has worked. Any suggestions? Thanks -- Mac Pro 2008 (Harpertown) Dual Quad Core 5GB RAM Snow Leopard 10.6.2 PTLE 8.0.3

Maybe try powering up your 002 in another building to narrow down a ground issue..

Re: 002 Console Issue, Faders Wont Move (grounding issue?)
I don't know that it is a ground issue, just a guess as the faders need to be grounded to move. I don't have the time to get it out of the building for a while, just wondering if anyone has other ideas in the meantime. :)

Re: 002 Console Issue, Faders Wont Move (grounding issue?)
Could be a grounding issue so maybe test all the outlets on the strip with a circuit tester(Home Depot for about $10). Also, since it is the 002, it might be worth reseating the power harness connection(several times) that feeds the fader circuit board. Another way to test for grounding would be to ground yourself(grab the rack rails or something that is a certain ground) with one hand while you try to move a fader with the other hand. Also, go into preferences and make sure that the "silent" mode isn't enabled(can't remember what it was called for sure, but there used to be a mode that would disable the faders to keep noise down(fader moves in automation still played out and faders on the screen would move).

Re: 002 Console Issue, Faders Wont Move (grounding issue?)
It's the "fader mute " button on the console surface. Since you just moved I wouldn't be surprised it is a power harness issue. The 002 consoles have a history of the harness contacts getting dirty and causing all kinds of problems.

Re: 002 Console Issue, Faders Wont Move (grounding issue?)
Just out of curiosity what happens if you open a session and move a fader with your mouse? does the console follow the fader movement?
