This is weak, Digi. Step up and respond. My ProControls sound like crap. You are going to make me pay to MAYBE fix them. Times all 5 semi-procontrols we own. My E-MU Paris pro system at home has a proper stereo image, and it is driving a crown D-150 and NS-10's. My Procontrols at work are driving Genelec 1029's, and I would rather work at home, where it sounds right. Yeah, it sound kinda like NS-10's and a Crown D-150, but at least Left is Left, and Right is Right. E-MU system, $5000 plus rack mounted computer cost, includes control surface with, (not a new or extra feature, but an included one) volume knob that turns the Left side up at the same amount as the Right side. Check it out! It is the knob on the upper right side of the control surface. It says something witty like, monitor, or volume. Not "up right some, up left some more than right, depending on what position the pot is in". Here is a link: http://www.emuparis.com/. Digi system with crappy monitor section on Procontrol and Genelec monitors; cost? much much more. Stop this silly nonsense. Yeah, even us hacks in the radio buisness can hear Left from Right. Even, god forbid, the engineers mixing for our AM sports radio station. Maybe a good workaround would be just one Genelec? That would solve the problem right there. Hell, just put an Auratone on the back shelf and call it good. It would match the Procontrol's monitor quality tit for tat. Stop holding us hostage to poor quality. Now that you have us, and our money, at least keep us entertained by throwing us a bone every once and a while.
Pissed that I even have to re-visit this silly and backward thread,
Kelly L.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delayed repsonse. We wanted to have the solution in hand before posting. Here it is, sorry for the formal tone:

Dear ProControl User,

Thank you for your comments on the DUC regarding the monitor pot balance. We have been investigating a solution to the problem and would like to send you a new pot for your system that should alleviate the balance problem.

Please note, the specification for the new pot we are providing you allows a maximum difference of +/- 1.0 dB between stereo pairs for the area of travel between the 9 o'clock position and 3 o'clock position. Due to the taper of any analog pot, below the 9 o'clock position there is a potential difference greater than that. Therefore, if your normal working level is below that level, we suggest you attenuate your monitor system and use the monitor pot at a level that falls within the screened area.

Please contact Digidesign Technical Support by phone or use the Tech Support Form via this website and furnish us with shipping instructions. We will ship the part to you at no charge as soon as we receive your order.

Thanks again for your comments. We do listen to our users and constantly work to improve our products!

Sincerely,
Gannon Kashiwa
