Default Beat Detective best place for transient markers?

I'm curious if people allow PT to do all the work in choosing best place to place markers on the transients or if they go in and fine tune. If you fine tune do you consider the initial nub of the transient the beginning, or the first significant wave notch whether above or below 0? Do you employ the trigger pad? How much does consistency matter from one transient to the next in transient marker placement across one track?

This is mostly regarding drums by the way.

Thanks.
