Hi,

Haven't seen this problem since moving from 7.1 to 7.2 and i'm now on 7.3.1 and haven't experienced it on this yet!!

Did think it was strange that there was this problem and no anouncement of a fix but it just went away! but yes, it would normally be when i was going to name a channel or name a song when bouncing or something like that and the qwerty would just stop working and i would have to quit PT and reboot. if i didn't quit PT i would get the s.w.o.d. and finally a quit.

Same here. But in my case there was a second reason for this to happen:
Sometimes I accidentally hit a "comments" field while scrolling up/down or sideways, so I wouldn´t see this happen.
Now this is the first thing I check.
But I´m quite sure that up to 7.1 it also happened for no reason.

This hasn't happened to me yet. Two things spring to mind thought:

1. I guess you know this kinda bug: but maybe you have a Waves Plug In open, that locks your keyboard?

2. The "keyboard stops working"-problem happens to me in Firefox sometimes - and there you just need to "Apple+Tab" to the finder and "Apple+Tab" back to the program, and it works again - the reason here is that the keyboard is locked to another Firefox window, although I clicked into the parent window. Maybe it's the same for Pro Tools.

Hope you get it solved,
Timothy

I have this happen in 7.3.1. Very strange, and it's exactly as the poster describes.

There was a bug in 7.2 (maybe 7.1?) where Pro Tools would have a hard crash following being unable to enter text into the track name field. I wonder if this is related-- in 7.3.1 there is no crash but similar behavior.

I still had this happen a few times in 7.3.1 except it doesnt crash anymore. I restart and it goes away. It doesnt seem to happen as much as it did in 7-7.2. The other day I tried to rename something in the IO setup and the keyboard wouldn't work.

Hi,

Since going to 7.3.1 cs4 i am back to having this problem about once a day.(haven't experienced this for about 9 months!) the qwerty keyboard just stops working and there's no way to type in anything, can't even save the song with a different name or number etc.

You just have to deal with it. Its a vibe killer and they can't reproduce this bug and I am sure it isn't a priority.

I have also developed this bug. A major drag that I cannot tie to any particular sequence of events.

Hi,

Digi? did anything change in cs4 that could have brought this problem back?? its becoming really annoying! not being able to save the session with a new name etc and having to re-boot every time.
