Have there been any developments on this? Will Apogee Thunderbridge work with Avid HD I/O (and Pro Tools) or is there any likelihood of this happening in 2014?

This will probabky never happen. There's no reason for Apogee to do this. Why would they give people a reason not to buy their interfaces?

My bad ... it does ... can anyone tell me if it has better converters than the apogee symphony and i can hook it digitally to my apogee symphony ...

you can feed the Omni's digital ins from the Symphony's digital outs but you are still limited by the 8 active inputs of the Omni

or are you asking something different?

no no ... i'll feed the digital ins of the symphony with the digital outs of the omni ... it's just that I need 2 decent mic preamps ... a used omni could really do a good job !!

the Omni dose not do a free standing mode as I under stand it (I don't have one)
