Default PT 6.0 and Pro Control / edit pack

Started working with it today .... finally :

1. Please someone tell me what the shortcut is to use the trim regions while scrubbing .... I can't seem to figure it out myself ... nothing I could find in the manual or any read me except the function being implemented and seeing it work on demo's.

I would have guessed that installing PT6 would force a firmware update on the Pro Control but it didn't and I can't seem to force one ...

2. SHIFT selecting locators STILL does NOT allow me to make a selection .... please digi / Stan .... this is very important ... it did that a couple of software versions ago but somewhere down the line it lost this very nice feature .... can we get a fix for that .... please pretty please with a cherry on top ...

(this doesn't function neither with the shift button on the ProControl nore with the shift key on the Edit Pack)

Everything else seems fine .... for now

found some :

apparently holding the scrub or shuttle key for approx 1 second will let you trim the beginning of the region with the wheel ........ option / holding the scrub or shuttle key will let you trim the end.

works GREAT

but I'm almost 100 percent sure there was more .... ?????

(although quite satisfied for now with what I figured out)

maybe a good idea to post a ProControl manual addendum pdf thing online one of these digi .....

If there's more ... lemme know

It works over multiple tracks ... although confusing. Stereo tracks / 2 tracks and regions with the same length (not necessarily stereo file) works perfect. Now over 2 tracks with regions with different length it works confusing. Maybe the thing wasn't ment to work this way to start with and then it's fine .... but it trims one region on one track and then seperates a region on the other..... Now that got me thinking of course because that could be very handy if it is ment to do that. But there is no logic in it ... sometimes it seperates on exactly the same time the other region trims. Sometimes it doesn't seperate the region .... sometimes at the wrong time ... no way I could pinpoint a logic to it.

Oh, and during my experimenting PT6 crashed a couple of times ... probably due to forbidden keycombinations like : option+command+shift+alt + scrub + F3 button with my nose to try if that did something special. ..... but it crashed .... I won't tell anyone I promise ..... if you would be so nice to post a little trim/scub manual over here somewhere. There's NOTHING in any manual .... not even in the midi I/O guide .... go figure ... I downloaded every singe pdf file I could find on the site and read them all last night.

GREAT tool though .... thank you once again Digi ... this alone makes PT6 worth the jump.

Some thought for future improvement implementation : make it follow group edits ... just like the normal mouse scrub does (maybe it does ... haven't even tried that one yet come to think of it)

Thank you.

(well it took a while too ... )

I can't help you...just came on to say I hope someone from digi shows up soon to help out.Last time I had a problem it was around a week and a half before Stan showed up (you actually posted on the thread).I got this from him regarding digi not showing up sooner...

"Regarding Digi's looking in here, we do from time to time, but the DUC has always been about users first. It is not a good place to 'officially get in touch' with Digi HQ and in fact, anytime a product manager pokes his or her nose in here, it's purely from interest."

Which is a drag seeing how much procontrol users spend,i definitley think if anything we should get "special" treatment. But from my experience you'll get a faster answer in the other forums.

Cheers
Chris

It also works with groups .... group 10 tracks with edit feature selected in the create group dialog and voila ..... trim 10 reagions 'a la fois' .... Magnifique n'est pas .......

Spoke to digi US today ... tried reaching Stan ... wasn't in his office. He still has an answering machine there so I suppose he still works there ...

STTTTAAAAAAANNNNNNNN .... where are you ???

Digi guy at customer support promissed to send me an email as soon as he found out. I'm pretty sure I saw more features attached to the trim/scrub function. Just can't seem to find someone at digi who can tell me what ... neither someone who denies there's more ....
