Splitting audio by markers
Hi,
After previously googling around this issue, I just couldn't find a simple solution on how to do this quick (and qo that it's quick to repeat), so I had no choice but to make external application for it. So anyone struggling with the same tedious task of selecting each song and then bouncing x12 should definately try this free (yes, free) and lightweight app that I made: https://sourceforge.net/projects/marker-audio-splitter/ Warning: Although I'm experienced programmer, I possibly don't have enought time to test the app thoroughly with every frame rate/version of pro tools/combination of markers etc, so I'd really appreciate feedback :) For those of you too anxious not to read the tutorial, here's what you need in a nutshell: 1. Export project file as text 2. Bounce the whole project to wav-file STARTING FROM THE BEGINNING (0:0:0:0) 3. Start the app, everything should be pretty straightforwards from that on... 4. Oh, and use Windows, mac not supported (yet) |

Re: Splitting audio by markers
What was/is the goal here? If you have multiple songs in a single session, that's something that most of us would not do

Re: Splitting audio by markers
Yeah, that's exactly the goal :) When composing songs, I keep different songs in different session, but when closing in to pre-production/production, I always combine them into a one big session and face the problem of bouncing songs as separated file.
So, most of you have songs in separate sessions throughout the "pipeline" of "draft-of-a-asong" to fully produced master? Well, at first I intented this app to be just a tool for myself, but since it made my life much easier and it was only couple of days of work, I decided to share it with everyone else too, in case someone else is having the same problem as I... After all, I've been using open-source apps for years now, so why not give something back |

Re: Splitting audio by markers
You can cut the whole bounce, with markers placed at each song start by :
showing only the bounce track, grid set to clips/markers edit - separate clip - on grid select all clips , auto-rename , export in one go.

Re: Splitting audio by markers
Yeah, but you'd still be first bouncing the project to one whole track, then making it solo, separating by markers etc? I'm not saying that it wouldn't be right to do so, but it seems like a lot of manual work by doing so, correct me if I'm wrong. The goal of my app is to do this all with couple of clicks ( after initial setup, which if 3 clicks )
