Trouble re-opening session on PT 12

I saved and closed a project. Reopen it just a few minutes ago and it is stuck on Building FX Windows...Luckily the project is new and I just started it but don't have much on it.

What causes the stuck on "Building FX Windows"?

Hope someone finds answer. I have had to re-create a session two times already because of this error!!!! Never had this problem in PT 11!!

I'm having the same issue, however in my case this is a session I've worked on for MANY hours. In fact I was just about to finish this session off and now I'm all stuck.

Anyone? HELP!!!

.... oh and trying to open a backed up session does not work either as I get stuck with the same error. This is SO FRUSTRATING!

Hmmm, I managed to work past the "Building FX Windows" error by removing my PSP Audioware plugings from the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins" folder.

Is anyone else here on the thread experiencing this issue also using PSP Audioware plugins?


BTW: This is not the first time I've seen Pro Tools and PSP not getting a long: AAE ERROO - 3000x

I get this problem if I open a session using the startup window or recent files. If I open using the File | Open option then they open no problem. I also had this problem on 12.1.

Currently PT Vanilla 12.4, OSX 10.10.5, Trashcan Mac Pro 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 16 GB RAM.

Will opening the session with Shift+S work?

I'm mistaken. It's holding the shift key down while opening the session that makes the session open with plugs inactivated.
