Reason 3.0.5/Pro Tools 7.1 Compatibilty???

Hello to All,

I'm running Pro Tools 7.1 LE with the Music Production ToolKit Option and Reason 3.0.4 on a PowerMac DualCore 2.3 wth 2.5 Gigs of Ram with the latest version of Tiger (10.4.6). I wanted to know if anybody has updated Reason to 3.0.5 and if anyone has had any problems with it and Pro Tools and other Apps like GarageBand, Logic, etc... Also as a side note, has anyone updated their Pace InterLok Mac extensions to the latest version (v5.4) and if so, any problems with that as well???

It's easy enough to try. The Reason update is just a new executable. if it doesn't work, drag it to the trash and restore the 3.0.4 one....

Well, I would say you should go for it. Seriously, propellerheads must know Pro Tools users can/may rely on Reason to work in Pro Tools' newest versions. I mean, they DO ship an "Adapted" version with Pro Tools LE, right? That would suggest they know you'll think about using Reason. And who would give you a free product and NOT hope to have you upgrade?? For real, they want your money, they don't want you just sticking with the free version. They want you to buy the latest pro version. So knowing that, it's a wise guess that they've made Reason 3.0.5 compatible with your Pro Tools. Especially if Reason 3.0.4 is compatible... Why would they make 3.0.5 not compatible? Why would they suddenly stop and say "Screw Pro Tools!"???

And if not, do what the other guy suggested and complain to propellerheads.

Maybe I'm not making myself clear. When I say compatible, I mean is the Reason 3.0.5 program update working properly with Pro Tools and other audio programs that I listed in the above posting. And I believe I also stated that I had Reason 3.0.4 installed on my system already. In the past I'm the guy who installed Reason 3.0.3 and it changed all my WAV and AIFF Icons to Reason Icons. which turned out to be a complete Nightmare! So in the simplest terms possible. Is anybody having problems what so ever with Reason, Reason working within Pro Tools 7.1 and other audio apps like Logic Pro, etc...

THAT'S strange...all my WAVs remain as itunes icons no matter what else I install. Perhaps you accidentally selected to associate WAV and AIFF directly with Reason. This would cause such a problem. But again, I still can't see why Reason's latest release won't work when the one just before it seems to work for you. Just be careful during updating.

Perhaps no one else is getting the .0.5 update right now.

This was a confirmed Bug that happened to a lot of users that Installed 3.0.3 or 3.0.2 (can't remember). I just wanted to know if there have been any problems with the Reason update (3.0.5) in anyway (Computer Performance, Reason working properly by itself, used with Pro Tools 7, Live 5.2, GarageBand 3, Logic Pro, etc...) I had no idea this simple inquiry would turn out to be so hard for people to answer.


This Topic Is Know Closed As Far As I Am Concerned. I'll find out for Myself whether it works or not.

Have you considered asking your questions in the Propellerheads user forum? Seems like a much better place to be asking about issues with one of their products. Sorry I don't have any help to offer other than that, but if I were a Reason user with questions that's where I'd go.
