Default RAM and SD ll 2.82

What is the optimum amount RAM for 2.82 ? and is there a problem when too much RAM is reserved for SD ?
Somehow, when I had only 8 MB RAM everything seems to move quicker then now that I have 112 MG RAM. It does not make sense to me but I will appreciate any input on the matter.
Thanks.

I believe this has to do with the fact that SDII has it's own RAM buffer to play back with. If you also increased it's internal buffer, it has to load a lot more data from disk into memory when you move around, and it has to deal with all of those crossfades in playlists. All of those are stored in RAM.

I usually run SDII with about 15MB RAM, if you are using really heavy playlists with large fades, try about 30MB and see if that is enough. I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Your comments make a lot of sense. I noticed also that when I limit the soundwave display on the screen to about 10 seconds, everything moves quickly.
