Default Aiff bounces saved as Session files?!?!?!

I have Digi 001 on a G4 with OS Jaguar 10.2.3 and whenever I bounce to wav of Aif, the bounce is saved as a PT session file and when I try to play the file PT tries to open it as a session and then I get an error that says the file is not a valid PT file.

Any ideas?

by default the bounced files want to open with pro tools but you should be able to open it through another application. go into itunes and drag it or use the open command. if that doesn't work (it should) then i don't know.

not a session file, but a creator-stamped file(ProTools). Just drag the file icon onto any player(QuickTime,iTunes,etc)-don't double-click it.
