Will the PC work with PT10 (non- HD version)?

I'm thinking of switching from PT HD version 8 to the standard PT 10 version. Will I be able to use my ProControl?

However I don't own one and am not 100% positive. Obviously its unsupported by Avid. You may want to check with X9blade. I beleive he's got a Pro Control and is running PT10. If it is still working I have no idea what PT11 will bring.

Yes, it will work, there is no difference between PT 10 and PT HD 10. I can launch my system with HD hardware (= PT HD 10), or without HD hardware (= PT 10), my ProControl does not know that and works fine all the time.

Same goes for the PT 10 installer, it just installs PT 10 HD, it is only your license on your iLok (PT 10 only or PT 10 + PT HD 10 combined) that determines if get you access to HD hardware or not. But this has nothing to do with any remote controllers you would be using.

Actually I missed the PT HD vs PT Software part of the question. Pro Control is still listed as a controller profile so you shouldnt have any problems.

So where would I go to find out more about the controllers - Looking for the timeline so I'm assuming the command 8 was the oldest version and then the pro control and then from pro control it went to euPhonix controllers right

Pretty sure the Pro Control was introduced before the Command8, Which was something of a TDM/HD/LE crossover device.

Theres a Digi archive but a lot of the links are broke. Another great place is the older installer disks.

I'm in the process of building a archive of the older stuff. I think I copied a ProControl or Control24 Demo disk from Bob Nagys archives.

A lot of people are looking for a copy of the 'ProControl Tutorial Dis'k that can't be found anyware. In post #21 of that thread you can see a photo of the disk we are searching for. If you have this disk, please consider to provide a disk image we could download. Btw, it is not the disk called 'Control Surfaces for Pro Tools' (brown color) that we are searching for

So if you have the disk called 'ProControl Tutorial', please feel free to answer in the other thread!
